How to Execute Death Row Prisoners in Prison Architect

Managing death row inmates in Prison Architect requires understanding the clemency system and following a specific authorization process. This guide walks you through each step needed to schedule and carry out an execution in the game.

Understanding Clemency Requirements

Before you can execute a death row prisoner, you need to check their clemency rating. Look at the left side of the screen to view the clemency percentage for each inmate on death row. The key requirement is that clemency must be 10% or below to schedule an execution.

Click on the death row prisoner to view their individual clemency rating. This percentage determines the state-approved conviction strength, which is displayed in the bottom right section of the interface.

Scheduling the Execution

Once your prisoner meets the clemency requirement, click on “Schedule Execution” to begin the process. This will trigger a series of authorization tasks that appear in the top left of your screen.

Authorization Steps

After scheduling the execution, you’ll need to authorize multiple tasks in sequence. Work through the to-do list on the left side of your screen and approve each item as it appears:

Phase 1: Preparation

Authorize the institution-wide lockdown

Authorize the test facility

Phase 2: Execution Team Assembly

Authorize the assemble execution detail

Authorize the escort of witnesses to the facility

Phase 3: Final Authorization

Authorize the execution itself

Authorize the misstaff and witnesses notification

Authorize the final report

Completion

Continue authorizing each item on the to-do list as it appears. Once all authorizations are complete, the execution will be carried out. Make sure to authorize the final report to fully close out the execution process.
