A Monk & A Saint Quest Guide in The Blood of Dawnwalker

A Monk & A Saint Quest Guide in The Blood of Dawnwalker

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of finding St. Mejai’s sword at nighttime in the Dunwook Art area. This quest requires careful navigation through the cathedral’s southwest tower and some precise platforming to locate the hidden mural and unlock the path to the sword. Follow along as we break down each step to help you complete this tricky quest.

Getting to the Southwest Tower

Start from the cathedral and head toward the southwest tower. You’ll notice there is scaffolding on the side of the tower, which provides a useful climbing route. The easiest approach is to jump up onto the roof of the nearby building first.

Navigating the Rooftop

Once you’re on the building, jump up onto the roof. You may notice symbols on the ground (such as Mickey symbols), but you don’t need to worry about those for this particular quest. Your goal is to find the sword and make your way to the cathedral roof, so continue forward and jump over to the cathedral itself.

Entering the Cathedral Interior

Once you reach the cathedral roof, you’ll be able to get inside. Jump down and you’ll enter the cathedral interior. Inside, you’ll notice that Zanfee is performing some rituals, but she won’t bother you as long as you avoid her area.

Avoiding the Boss Fight

Important: If you go down to where Zanfee is located, you will trigger a boss fight with her. If you want to complete this quest first and save the boss fight for later, stay on the upper paths and avoid descending to her level. You can always return to trigger the side quest once you’ve found St. Mejai’s sword.

Platforming to the Mural

From your current position inside the cathedral, head up to the balcony you can see. This is the balcony that was visible from the outside. Once you reach it, continue forward and make your way across the platforms by jumping carefully from one to the next.

Jump across to the next platform, then jump across again to reach the final platform. From this position, you’ll be able to inspect the mural ahead of you. You don’t need to go any further than this point.

Inspecting the Mural

Once you’re in position, inspect the mural. This will trigger the next part of the quest and reveal important information about St. Mejai’s sword.

Returning to the Courtyard

After inspecting the mural, you need to make your way back out and return to the courtyard. If you accidentally fall down (which is easy to do), don’t worry—you can recover by going back up the scaffolding and exiting the way you came in. Alternatively, you can drop down into the courtyard below.

Finding the Correct Symbol in the Courtyard

Once in the courtyard, look for the correct marking on the ground. There are several crosses in the courtyard, but you want the one on the right-hand side—specifically, the first one on the right, not the second. Inspect this symbol to proceed.

When you inspect the correct symbol, you’ll see it’s marked as a symbol. Open it up to reveal the next area.

Unlocking St. Mejai’s Sword

Go inside the newly opened area. This is how you find St. Mejai’s sword and unlock the completion of this quest phase. You’ll notice there are little birds around the sword location, which is an interesting environmental detail.

Optional Daytime Interaction

As a note for future playthroughs or if you’re curious: you may be able to interact with the character or elements here during daytime, though this quest is designed to be completed at night. Feel free to experiment if you’d like to discover additional dialogue or quest options.

Summary

That’s how you successfully find St. Mejai’s sword in The Blood of Dawnwalker! This quest requires careful platforming, avoidance of a boss fight if you’re not ready, and inspection of specific locations both inside the cathedral and in the courtyard. Make sure you follow the correct path and inspect the right symbols to unlock the sword’s location.
