Starting the Quest with Merlin

The Crystal Mystery quest begins with Merlin. Make sure you’re ready to embark on this magical adventure together with him as your guide throughout the entire questline.

Step 1: Explore the Forest of Valar

Your first objective is to explore the Forest of Valar with Merlin. Head to the bottom section of the Forest of Valar where you’ll find a black crystal lit up on the ground. Pick up this crystal — it’s a mysterious shard that you’ll need for the next step.

Once you’ve collected the mysterious shard, bring it back to Merlin to complete this exploration phase.

Step 2: Collect Night Shards

Present the mysterious shard to Merlin. He will provide you with night shards and explain that you need to purify them using a dream shard at your craft station. Merlin will tell you: “Try purifying these night shards with a dream shard at your craft station. While you were collecting these I further investigated the large night shard. It reacts strongly to dream like magic. Try combining them.”

Step 3: Craft Purified Night Shards

Travel to your crafting bench or craft station. You should already have night shards in your inventory from your conversation with Merlin. Navigate to the Potions and Enchantment section of your crafting menu and select “Purified Night Shard” to create one.

Once you’ve crafted the purified night shard, return to Merlin with this newly created item.

Step 4: Gift the Purified Night Shard

The final step requires you to gift the purified night shard to any villager. In this example, we gift it to Moushù by approaching him, selecting “I’ve got something for you,” and presenting the purified night shard.

Congratulations! You have successfully completed the Crystal Mystery quest.
