Into the West Wing Quest Guide – Disney Dreamlight Valley

Welcome to this comprehensive quest guide for Into the West Wing in Disney Dreamlight Valley. This quest is the first major objective in the Beauty and the Beast realm and involves exploring the castle, collecting items, and meeting the enchanted inhabitants. Follow this step-by-step guide to complete the quest and unlock the next chapter in your Dreamlight Valley adventure.

Unlocking the West Wing Quest

To begin this quest, you need to head to the top floor of the Dream Light Castle and unlock it using Dream Light. Once unlocked, the “Into the West Wing” quest will automatically start, and you’ll be transported into the Beauty and the Beast realm.

Exploring the Beauty and the Beast Realm

Upon entering the realm, head straight toward the book in the corridor. The book will open and begin flying down the hallway—this is your signal to follow it. The flying book is self-explanatory in its guidance, so simply pursue it until you reach Belle.

Catching the Flying Books in the Library

Once you’ve spoken to Belle, your next objective is to catch all five flying books scattered throughout the library. To catch each book, run toward it and press your interact button when you’re close enough. There are five books in total, so you’ll need to collect all of them. This task can be a bit challenging but remains fun and engaging.

After collecting all five flying books, return them to Belle to complete this portion of the quest.

Finding the Secret Passage

Next, you need to find a way to access the secret passage in the library. Look for items scattered throughout the room. You’ll need to collect:

Two wheels (one near Mrs. Potts and one on the table opposite the globe)

Four planks of wood (located in various spots around the library)

Locate the fireplace and look for a staircase on its right side. Place the two wheels and two planks into the available slots. Once inserted, the secret entrance will open.

Before rushing in, speak to Belle again. She’ll explain that the Beast won’t be happy to see a stranger and requests that you collect the following items:

Four castle candles

One castle candle holder

One golden curtain

Gathering the Required Items

Castle Candles

First Candle: As soon as you walk into the secret entrance, you can pick up the first candle immediately.

Second Candle: Located on the table to the left of the fireplace when you exit the secret room.

Third Candle: To find this candle, leave the main room, turn left, take the first right, and then take another left to enter the garden. Once in the garden, take an immediate left to find the candle.

Fourth Candle: Return to the main corridor and go up the stairs. After passing the two lion statues, continue all the way back down to the actual entrance—the final candle is located here.

Golden Curtain

The golden curtain is located on the table behind the globe in the main room.

Castle Candle Holder

Head up the stairs in the main corridor, turn left, and look just before the entrance stairs. The castle candle holder can be picked up near the two lion statues.

Confronting the Beast

Once you’ve collected all items, bring them back to Belle. She will provide you with a special disguise—a candle hat and candlestick costume. Equip these items.

With the disguise equipped, head into the secret room, go up the stairs, and interact with the red curtain at the top to pass through into the West Wing. Here you’ll encounter the Beast and see the enchanted rose.

Speak to the Beast. He’ll be confused about your candlestick appearance and ask you to leave. After this interaction, return and speak to Belle.

Crafting the Enchanted Canvas

Return to Disney Dreamlight Village and speak to Merlin. Select the “Into the West Wing” dialogue option. Merlin will ask you to create an Enchanted Canvas.

Go to your crafting bench and navigate to Functional Items to craft the Enchanted Canvas. You’ll need the following materials:

Dream Shards

Three White Daisies

Two Garnets

Eight Fiber

Where to Find Crafting Materials

Fiber: Can be crafted from seaweed, which you can fish from anywhere in the valley without requiring a fishing ripple.

Dream Shards: Obtained by clearing night thorns, digging up sparkling mounds, or feeding critters their favorite foods.

White Daisies: Found in the Peaceful Meadow.

Garnets: Mined from rocks in the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow. Plain-looking rocks will drop garnets, though rocks with visible gems are also available.

Completing the Quest

Once you’ve crafted the Enchanted Canvas, return to the Beauty and the Beast realm and head to the top of the castle where Belle is overlooking the garden. Give her the Enchanted Canvas.

Belle will ask you to follow her into the West Wing. Once there, speak to Belle again to complete the quest. The Beast will react positively to the painting you’ve created.

Quest Complete!
