Monstrously Good Taste Quest Guide in Disney Dreamlight Valley

This comprehensive quest guide will walk you through the “Monstrously Good Taste” quest featuring Mike Wazowski in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Follow these step-by-step instructions to complete the quest and unlock the rewards that await you.

Starting the Quest: Talk to Mike Wazowski

Begin by speaking to Mike Wazowski directly to initiate the quest.

Step 1: Obtain the Special Fish from Remi

Head over to Remi and speak with him to obtain a special fish. This fish is essential for the next part of the quest.

Step 2: Plant the Spoiled Carp on Dazzle Beach

Travel to Dazzle Beach with your special fish. Equip your shovel and plant the fish using the “plant seed” option, but select the fish rather than an actual seed. Once planted, wait for the fish to rot completely. When it’s ready, harvest it to obtain a rotten carp.

Step 3: Show the Rotten Carp to Mike

Bring the rotten carp back to Mike Wazowski for evaluation. He will comment on its state and prepare for the next phase of the quest.

Step 4: Craft the Monstrous Cologne

Travel to your crafting bench and craft the monstrous cologne using the following ingredients:

7 Rich Soil

5 Empty Vials

Important Note on Rich Soil: Rich soil can only be obtained by harvesting crops that you’ve planted in Disney Dreamlight Valley. There is approximately a 1 in 20 chance of receiving rich soil when harvesting. You cannot obtain rich soil by digging—only through crop harvesting.

Step 5: Give the Monstrous Cologne to Scrooge McDuck

Once crafted, locate Scrooge McDuck at his store and give him the monstrous cologne. He will comment on its dreadful smell.

Step 6: Share the Cologne with Two Villagers

You must share the monstrous cologne with two different villagers: Scar and Vanellope. Speak to each of them in turn and select the “Monstrously Good Taste” dialogue option when available.

Step 7: Report Back to Mike Wazowski

Return to Mike Wazowski and report on your progress sharing the cologne with the villagers.

Step 8: Collect Ingredients in Scar’s Cave

Travel to the Sunlit Plateau and enter Scar’s cave. Inside, you’ll find the Royal Herbal ingredient sitting on the floor. Collect it along with the following additional ingredients:

Royal Herbal (found in Scar’s cave)

Clams (pink shellfish found on Dazzle Beach)

Wheat (available from Goopy Store or craft it yourself)

Milk (available from Remy’s pantry shop in the restaurant)

Clam Identification Tip: When collecting on Dazzle Beach, be sure to pick up the pink shellfish (clams), not the blue ones (oysters or mussels).

Step 9: Cook the Gourmet Rot Dog

Head to any cooking pot and prepare the Gourmet Rot Dog using the following ingredients:

Clams

Milk

Wheat

Royal Herbal

Use the autofill feature if available to quickly add the ingredients, then begin cooking.

Step 10: Present the Dish to Remi

Take the cooked Gourmet Rot Dog to Remi and show him the finished recipe.

Step 11: Give the Rot Dog to Mike

Following Remi’s suggestion, give the Gourmet Rot Dog to Mike Wazowski. He will appreciate the rotten creation.

Step 12: Listen to the Final Conversation

Mike will share the dish with Salleh, and you’ll witness their conversation about the rot dog. Listen to their exchange as they discuss the finished product.

Step 13: Complete the Quest

Speak to Mike one final time to complete the “Monstrously Good Taste” quest and claim your rewards.
