Starting the Quest with Maui

Once you’ve completed your initial Moana quest, head over to Maui and talk to him to pick up The Great Maui Quest. After accepting the quest, your next objective is to speak with Moana to learn more about Maui and his background.

Return to Maui after speaking with Moana. He will quiz you on what he’s all about, so pay attention to the answers!

Maui’s Quiz Challenge

Maui will present you with three quiz questions. Here are the correct answers:

Question 1: What is His Official Title?

Question 2: What Did He Hero to All Bury to Make Coconut Trees?

Answer: Eels — Make sure you click on eels for this answer.

Upgrading Your Pickaxe

After answering the quiz questions, Maui will ask for your help with his boat. He’ll take your pickaxe and upgrade it for you. You’ll notice the pickaxe is now improved and ready for the next task.

Equip your newly upgraded pickaxe from your inventory.

Breaking the Coral and Freeing the Canoe

Your upgraded pickaxe now has the ability to break coral. Navigate to the coral formations near Moana’s boat and right-click on them to break them apart.

With your enhanced pickaxe, the coral breaks quite easily. Continue breaking all the coral surrounding Moana’s canoe until it’s completely free from its coral prison.

Completing the Quest

Once you’ve successfully broken all the coral and freed Moana’s canoe from being trapped, return to Maui and speak with him to complete the quest. Congratulations! You’ve successfully completed The Great Maui Quest!
