How To Build The Beacon In Frostpunk

The Beacon is an essential building in Frostpunk that allows you to send out scout teams across the map to explore new territories and discover valuable resources and technologies. This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of building your first Beacon.

Step 1: Build a Workshop

The first thing you need to do is construct a Workshop. This is the building where you’ll be able to research new technologies and upgrades for your settlement.

Navigate to the Construction tab in your menu, then select the Tech category. Find the Workshop option and click on it. When placing the Workshop, make sure to position it against a road—you’ll know it’s correctly placed when it displays as green.

Step 2: Research the Beacon Technology

Once your Workshop is built and placed, click on the building to open its interface. Select “Add New Research” to begin a new research project.

Look for the Beacon technology under the Exploration and Industry section. Click on it to begin researching. The research will start immediately and progress over time.

After the Beacon research is complete, you can now construct the actual Beacon building. Go back to the Construction menu and select Beacon instead of Workshop. Place it on your map just like you did with the Workshop, positioning it against a road for proper placement.

Once your Beacon is built, you can now recruit people to become Scouts. Click on your Beacon building to open its management interface, where you can see the current location and status of your scout teams. From here, you can recruit citizens to become Scouts, who will then venture out into the snow across the map to explore new areas, find resources, and discover new technologies for your settlement.
