All Crate Locations for Furnace Lair in Once Human

In this guide, we’ll walk you through every crate location in the Furnace Lair, one of the zones in Once Human. The Furnace Lair contains a total of five crates: one weapon crate, two gear crates, and two mystical crates. Whether you’re a beginner or returning player, this step-by-step breakdown will help you find each crate efficiently and maximize your loot.

Overview of Furnace Lair Crates

The Furnace Lair is located just north of Tall Grass in the fourth zone, accessible from Chalk Peak. This area contains valuable equipment and mystical items scattered across multiple locations. Here’s what you’ll find:

Crate Location 1: Weapon Crate in the Barn Basement

Start at the north end of the Furnace Lair town, where you’ll find barns and vegetable hangers. Look for the one-story barn with a red truck parked outside. Enter the barn and head down into the basement.

Once in the main basement room, exit the stairs, take an immediate right turn, and head down the corridor. You’ll encounter some unusual environmental details, but your focus is the gear crate located in this section.

Collect the weapon crate here, then exit the barn using any of the multiple available exits.

Crate Location 2 & 3: Mystical Crates in the Train Yard

Head south from the barn area to reach the train yard section of the Furnace Lair. This area contains two mystical crates that require some platforming to access.

First Mystical Crate (Train Car Roof)

Approach the train cars and jump up onto the crates and train cart. Navigate across to the next train car where you’ll see a purple swally object. Walk through it to trigger a movement sequence.

The swally will move to the other end of the train car. Walk through it again, and it will move upward. This will allow you to jump up onto the train car roof.

The jumping may feel slightly awkward, but persist until you reach the roof. Walk through the next swally, and your first mystical crate will appear on top of the roof.

Second Mystical Crate (Catwalk)

From the train car roof, jump through the hole in the roof onto the lower platform. Since you’re already elevated, you can now jump up onto the boardwalk catwalk above.

Your second mystical crate is conveniently waiting for you on this catwalk.

Crate Location 4: Gear Crate in the Red Train

While on the catwalk, run down its length and enter the red train car at the end. Inside this train car, you’ll find your second gear crate.

Crate Location 5: Final Gear Crate at the Brick Building

Exit the train yard building and locate the brick building marked with the phone and slay logo. This is where you’ll find your final gear crate.

Climb the stairs at the front entrance of the brick building and go inside. Turn left immediately upon entering, and you’ll see your final gear crate.
