How To Copy Rooms In Prison Architect

Copying rooms is one of the most efficient ways to build your prison quickly in Prison Architect. Instead of recreating the same room layout multiple times, you can clone existing rooms and paste them wherever you need. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to master the room copying feature.

Accessing the Clone Feature

To begin copying rooms, you’ll need to access the Quick Build menu. Look at the bottom left of your screen and click on Quick Build.

Once the Quick Build menu opens, navigate to the top left side of the screen and click on Custom.

You’ll now see the Clone button displayed in the Custom menu. Click on it to activate the cloning mode.

Selecting and Copying a Room

With the Clone button active, look for the room you want to copy. For this example, we’ll copy the Staff Room. You can select any room in your prison that you want to duplicate.

To copy the room, right-click on the edge of the room and drag across the entire room outline. Make sure you cover the whole room when dragging to ensure the complete room is selected for cloning.

Pasting Your Cloned Room

Once you release the right-click drag, you’ll see a copy of the room has been created. The cloned room is now ready to be placed in your prison.

To paste the cloned room in your desired location, simply left-click anywhere on your prison layout where you want the room to appear. The room will be placed exactly at that spot.
