The Space Oddity side gig is a rewarding quest available in Cyberpunk 2077 that offers multiple endings and paths to completion. This guide will walk you through all the steps needed to successfully complete this quest, including the key stat requirements, dialogue choices, and combat encounters you’ll face along the way.

Quest Location and Initial Setup

The Space Oddity side gig is located in Santo Domingo. You’ll find it in the area near the solar panels, positioned in the general vicinity we’ll describe below.

Meeting the Bums and Obtaining the Briefcase

Your quest begins by talking to the Bums in the area. They are holding a briefcase that you’ll need to acquire.

Two Methods to Obtain the Briefcase

You have two options for getting the briefcase from the Bums:

Strength Method: If you have Level 6 or above Strength, you can take the briefcase directly from them without paying.

Purchase Method: If you don’t have the required Strength, you can buy the briefcase from them instead.

In this guide, we chose to demand the briefcase directly by selecting the “give it to me now” dialogue option.

Hacking the Briefcase

Once you have the briefcase, you’ll need to hack it to proceed. This step requires an Intelligence stat of 11 or higher.

Intelligence Requirement

You must have at least 11 Intelligence to successfully hack the briefcase. Without this stat, you cannot complete this portion of the quest.

Hacking the Code

The hacking sequence is relatively straightforward. The correct code to enter is: E915

Once you input the correct code, you’ll gain access to the encrypted data within the briefcase.

Opening the Briefcase and Receiving Coordinates

After successfully hacking the briefcase, you can open it to find files. These files contain coordinates to a drop point location.

Alert: Rapid Response Unit Incoming

Be aware that opening the briefcase and accessing the coordinates will alert a Rapid Response Unit to your location. They will be waiting for you at the drop point.

Traveling to the Drop Point

The drop point is approximately 1.8 kilometers away from your current location. Make your way there using your preferred method of transportation.

Upon arrival, you’ll receive a notification indicating there are seven enemies to defeat at the location.

Combat Encounter

Enemy Count and Difficulty

You’ll face a total of seven enemies at the drop point. These enemies shouldn’t present significant difficulty for most players, making this encounter relatively manageable compared to other combat scenarios in Cyberpunk 2077.

Claiming Your Reward

Once you’ve defeated all seven enemies, you can proceed into the area and collect the purple item. This item is a painting, which serves as the quest reward for completing the Space Oddity side gig.
