Quest Requirements and Prerequisites

Before you can start the “Built to Destroy” quest, you need to understand the prerequisites. This is one of the knitted sock quests where you’ll pick up items off the floor. You should have already completed the first two sock quests: one on Dusell Beach and another in the Meadow.

The most important requirement is that you must wait 10 days after unlocking Donald Duck’s house before the knitted orange sock will appear in the Forest of Valor. Note that this is 10 days from when Donald Duck’s boat arrives in the valley, not an additional 10 days after the previous quest. This means you could theoretically complete all three quests in a single day if you’ve already waited the required time.

Step 1: Pick Up the Knitted Orange Sock

Head to the Forest of Valor and locate the knitted orange sock on the ground. Once you’ve found it, pick it up to add it to your inventory.

Step 2: Talk to the Villagers

Now that you have the sock, you need to determine who it belongs to by talking to three key villagers: Mickey, Christoph, and Merlin. Start by speaking with Mickey.

Next, talk to Christoph to gather more clues.

Finally, have a conversation with Merlin. If you’re having trouble locating any villager, try toggling them off and on again in your settings — they will appear outside their house when you do this.

Step 3: Search Merlin’s House for a Clue

Enter Merlin’s house and search for clues. You’ll need to remove trash items scattered throughout the house. There are five pieces of trash in total that you can interact with to remove.

Continue removing all five pieces of trash until you locate a mysterious claw on the ground in Merlin’s library. Interact with the claw to pick it up — this is an important clue for your quest.

Step 4: Give the Mysterious Claw to Donald Duck

Once you have the mysterious claw, find Donald Duck in the valley and give it to him. He’ll understand the significance of the discovery.

Step 5: Place the Homing Beacon on Dazzle Beach

Now you need to go to Dazzle Beach and place down the homing beacon. For safety reasons, it’s best to place it near Skull Rock where it won’t be in the way. Access your inventory, navigate to Furniture > Requests, and select the homing beacon to place it.

Position the homing beacon near Skull Rock on Dazzle Beach to avoid any dangerous situations.

Step 6: Welcome Stitch!

After placing the homing beacon, something exciting happens — a ship crash-lands on Skull Rock! This is Stitch arriving in the valley. You’ll encounter the stock sealing alien, and Donald Duck will come running to see what the commotion is about.

Step 7: Place Stitch’s House

Now it’s time to build Stitch’s house in your valley. Open your inventory and go to Furniture > Requests to find Stitch’s house. Select a suitable location in your valley to place it. The cost to place Stitch’s house is 10,000 gold, so make sure you have enough currency available.

Choose a location that fits well with your valley layout and place the house.

Once placed, unlock Stitch’s house by paying the 10,000 gold fee.

Step 8: Complete the Quest

Finally, find Stitch in his new house and talk to him to tell him all about his new home in the valley. This will complete the “Built to Destroy” quest and officially unlock Stitch as a resident of Disney Dreamlight Valley!
