Guts & Glory Quest Guide in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Welcome to this comprehensive guide for the Guts & Glory quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley. This quest is the trial you need to complete to unlock Hades as a character in your valley. Follow along as we walk through each puzzle and challenge step-by-step.

Entering the Trial

Begin by entering the trial area. Once inside, head down the path and speak to Hades to initiate the quest.

The Storage Container Puzzle

You’ll notice a storage container filled with urns near the entrance. Interact with it to push it forward toward the gates ahead. This action opens the gate, allowing you and Hades to proceed through.

The Spinning Wheel and Bridge

Equip your net and use it horizontally to spin the wheel. This action rotates the bridge to allow you to cross. Once the bridge is in position, walk across it to continue.

The Lever and Pickaxe Section

At the end of the bridge, pull the lever to lower the next bridge. Cross it and then take out your pickaxe to mine the rocks blocking your path on the other side.

The Vertical Net Swing

Use your net vertically this time to open two gates. Then push the urn container again—it will pass through the gate you just opened and also unlock another passage for you to walk through.

Chest and Whirlpool Area

After passing through the gates, you’ll find a treasure chest to open and a piece of paper to read. There’s also a whirlpool here—equip your fishing rod and fish into it. You’ll catch a bridge piece that appears out of the water.

Another Horizontal Net Swing

Use your net horizontally again to rotate your position. This allows you to head upward in the trial.

Upper Level Exploration

On the upper level, you’ll find another treasure chest containing shiny rubies. Use your net once more to move the staircase into position so you can descend and pull the next lever, which lowers another bridge.

The Vase and Bridge Coordination Puzzle

After crossing the bridge and pulling the next lever, you’ll encounter a more complex puzzle. Before proceeding, open the treasure chest here to obtain a golden apple. Lower the bridge so it blocks the vases, then use your net to hit the vases. This opens both gates. Next, raise the bridge again by pulling the lever, then push the vases all the way to the end of the path.

Approaching Hades

Pass through the gates you opened and head up the stairs. At the top, you’ll encounter Hades approaching slowly. Once he arrives, speak with him to trigger the next sequence.

The Inky Mess Interaction

Interact with the inky mess in the bowl at the top of the stairs. This will bring Hades into your valley.

Placing Hades’ Lair

You now need to place Hades’ Lair furniture somewhere in your valley. Choose a location that fits your aesthetic—darker areas may suit Hades’ lair thematically, but you can place it anywhere you prefer.

Welcoming Hades to the Valley

Use Scrooge’s sign to officially open Hades’ Lair in your chosen location. Then welcome Hades to the valley and speak to him once more to complete the Guts & Glory quest.
