Step 1: Collect Purified Night Shards from Wally

The first task is to locate Wally and give him your purified night shards. Wally will help you crush these shards as part of the quest preparation. If you don’t already have purified night shards in your inventory, you’ll need to craft them at a crafting bench before proceeding. In this guide, three purified night shards were already available in inventory.

After speaking with Wally, proceed to the next objective.

Step 2: Talk to Merlin

You can gather mushrooms in two ways: use your water can on small mushroom patches found throughout the valley, or pick up mushrooms directly from the Glade of Trust. Collect a total of 15 mushrooms for the crafting recipe.

Obtaining Falling Water

Travel to the Glade of Trust and head to the south end of the area. Look for the water fullers location marked on your map. You can interact with this location to obtain falling water.

Obtaining Ice Heart

Merlin provides you with an ice seed as part of the quest. Find a suitable location and dig up the ground to plant this seed. Water the planted seed and wait for it to grow. Once fully grown, harvest the ice seed to obtain the ice heart.

Step 4: Craft the Enchantment

Once you have gathered all required items (ice heart, falling water, and 15 mushrooms), head to a crafting bench. Craft the following item:

Potions of Enchantment (using ice heart, falling water, and 15 mushrooms)

This crafting recipe will also upgrade your Royal Watering Can and create an Upgrade Ointment as part of the process.

Step 5: Return to Merlin with the Enchantment

Bring the crafted Potions of Enchantment to Merlin. Once you deliver the potion, Merlin will automatically upgrade your watering can to a more powerful version capable of removing the large, blocking mushroom patches throughout the valley.

Step 6: Remove the Blocking Mushrooms

Now that your watering can has been upgraded, you can use it to remove the large, powerful mushroom patches blocking your path. These are the huge mushroom formations scattered throughout the valley that were previously impassable. Use your upgraded watering can on these large patches to clear the way and open up new areas.

Step 7: Complete the Quest

After removing the blocking mushrooms and opening up new pathways, return to Merlin one final time to complete The Final Trial quest. This concludes the quest and unlocks further progression in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
