This comprehensive guide walks you through the complete “Restoring the Sunstone” village project quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley. You’ll work directly with Mother Gothel to gather materials, craft special fragments, and ultimately restore the Sunstone. Follow along step-by-step to complete this rewarding questline.

Starting the Quest with Mother Gothel

Begin this quest by speaking with Mother Gothel. She will provide you with the fragments from the previous quest and set you on your path to restore the Sunstone.

Gathering Materials for the Dawn Fragment

Your first task is to gather the following ingredients:

Lemons

Oregano

Mint

Ocean water

You can find herbs scattered around the village. Ocean water is collected from the ocean by interacting with the sparkles you’ll see at the water’s edge. Simply approach the sparkles and interact with them to collect the ocean water.

Cooking the Gleaming Dawn Fragment

Once you’ve gathered all your materials, head to a cooking station. Access the cooking station recipes and search for “gleaming dawn fragment.” Select this recipe, press the button to fill your ingredients, and start cooking.

After the cooking is complete, you’ll receive the gleaming dawn fragment. Bring this fragment back to Mother Gothel.

Obtaining and Planting the Dusk Fragment

When you give Mother Gothel the gleaming dawn fragment, she will give you the dusk fragment in return. This fragment must be buried and grown in the Forgotten Lands.

Travel to the Forgotten Lands and take out your shovel. Dig a hole in the ground, select the dusk fragment as your seed, and plant it. The fragment will then need time to grow.

Tending to Your Fragment

After planting, you’ll need to water your fragment to help it grow. This process takes time, so be patient. Once it has fully grown, you can harvest it.

Return the gleaming dusk fragment to Mother Gothel once it’s fully grown.

Collecting the Five Sun Meteorites

The final material component requires you to collect five Sun meteorites from the Forgotten Lands. These appear as literal burning meteorites scattered throughout the map. You’ll need to locate all five to proceed.

One meteorite in the general area (easily visible as you explore)

One meteorite in the top left corner of the map

One meteorite in the middle section on the left side
