Change Your Fate Quest Guide in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Starting the Quest with Merida

To begin, you need to talk to Merida to unlock the “Change Your Fate” quest. Head to Merida’s cottage and enter inside.

Searching Merida’s Cottage for Clues

Once inside the cottage, your task is to search it for clues. The space is quite small, so there isn’t much area to cover. Look for an interactive element—you should be able to interact with the sack or window area. Even if you don’t see a glowing indicator, try interacting in the visible spot near these objects.

After interacting, talk to Merida to pick up a memory. This memory provides your first clue: you need to find Merida’s best friend, described as a fierce warrior who’s good with a bow staff. The answer is Mulan.

Locating Mulan

If Mulan is not currently in the Storybook Vale, you can add her by using the available interface options. Once she’s in the valley, go and speak to Mulan to continue the quest.

Finding the Clue Under the Pegasus Wing

Your next objective is to search for a clue under the wing of a giant flying horse. This clue is located in the Elysian Fields, the same area where you unlocked Hades.

Locating the Pegasus

Travel to the Elysian Fields and search for the large pegasus statue. You should find it positioned with distinctive arches. Stand beneath the pegasus, and you’ll see an interactive prompt indicating something is tucked under the flying horse’s wing.

Taking a Picture of the Pegasus

The game requires you to take a picture of the pegasus wing area. Pull out your camera and take a photo of the large pegasus and its wing. Even if you can’t see anything obvious, the picture will count toward the quest.

After taking the picture, return to Merida and talk to her again. She will then follow you to the giant horse statue.

Merida Shoots the Statue

When you reach the giant horse statue with Merida, she will shoot it with her bow. This action causes a clue to fall beneath the statue. Investigate the bag that falls down by going to the ground level near the Finging Bob area.

Pick up the little bag on the ground, which gives you another memory. This memory reveals the next clue: “I left the next clue where the wolf drinks spilled tea.”

The Wolf and Spilled Tea Clue

The reference to “where the wolf drinks spilled tea” points to Flynn’s house. You’ll need to head to the Wild Woods to find this location.

Finding Goofy’s Stall

In the Wild Woods, locate Goofy’s stall, which is conveniently positioned near the fountain for easy access. At this location, you’ll find a purple memory lying on the floor.

Pick up this memory, which contains your next clue: “Finding your place in the world under the eye of a watchful mother.” This clue is located near the crossing in the Wild Woods.

The Watchful Mother Clue

Speak to Merida once more to discuss this clue. The reference to “the eye of a watchful mother” doesn’t refer to Mother Goethel or a similar character. Instead, it’s referring to the Law Keeper. You’ll need to travel to the Library of the Law.

Navigating the Library of the Law

Enter the Library of the Law and make your way to the center of the main room. Climb the left staircase from the main entrance, and you’ll come across a globe. The memory is located inside or near this globe on the top of the stairs on the left side.

Pick up the memory from the globe to continue the quest.

The Memory and Location Discovery

The memory you picked up shows you a new location to explore. Exit the Library of the Law on the right side into the Elysian Fields area. However, the location in the memory is actually located in the Bind, not the Elysian Fields—you can tell by the similar color scheme.

Locating Scrooge’s Store

Head to the Bind and find Scrooge’s store with the nearby bookcase. This location is in the very bottom left corner of the Bind, near a waterfall. Look for an interactive bookshelf that you can interact with.

Interact with the bookshelf and pick up the piece of paper you find there. This is the scorched message mentioned in the quest.

Completing the Quest with Hades

Return to Merida and give her the scorched message you found. After she accepts it, the next step is to talk to Hades.

Visiting Hades’ House

Travel to Hades’ house to search for the hidden treasure inside. Once there, look on the right side of his throne—this is where the treasure item is located.

Pick up the treasure and return to Merida to give it to her. She will give it back to you as a keepsake, completing the “Change Your Fate” quest.
