Merlin reveals that the Golden Doorknob belongs to a charming character named Mirabelle Madrigal. The previous ruler ensured her house was built to remind her of her home, and this artifact is proof that she may be considering a return to the valley.

However, before Mirabelle returns, you must prove that the valley is safe by completing several tasks.

Complete the Quest Objectives

Task 1: Take Pictures of Three Villagers

Your first objective is to take pictures of three different villagers using your camera. Simply equip your camera and snap photos of any three residents in the valley. You can capture multiple villagers in a single photograph—for example, taking a picture with both Merlin and Remy counts as two villagers toward your goal. This makes completing this task quite flexible and quick.

Task 2: Have Daily Chats with Two Villagers

Next, you need to have daily chats with two different villagers. To do this, approach a villager and select the daily chat option. These dialogue options typically include friendly greetings like “You look happy today” or similar interactions. Complete this chat with two separate villagers to satisfy this requirement.

Task 3: Give Favorite Gifts to Two Villagers

The final main objective is to give favorite gifts to two different villagers. To find out what a villager loves, approach them and select the “I have something for you” option. This will display their current favorite items. Popular gifts include ginger cookies, chocolate waffles, nightshards, and spinach.

For example, Merlin may request a Nightshard—if you have one, simply give it to him to complete this objective. If you don’t have a villager’s requested item, try asking a different villager instead. This gives you flexibility; for instance, Wally might want spinach, which is easy to obtain and keep in your inventory.

Gathering Resources and Dream Light

After completing the chat and gift-giving tasks, speak to Merlin again. You’ll need to collect 500 Dream Light to progress. Check your collections menu to gather the required Dream Light, then return to Merlin and deliver it.

Place Mirabelle’s House

Now it’s time to place Mirabelle’s house in the valley. Open your inventory by pressing I and navigate to the Furniture section. Look for Merlin’s requests and locate the “Mini-Casita.” This is a notably large house, so you’ll want to choose your placement carefully.

Consider placing it in an aesthetically pleasing location that complements the surrounding environment. For example, placing it on the beach can create a beautiful visual harmony with the landscape.

Welcome Mirabelle to the Valley

Once you’ve placed the Mini-Casita, Mirabelle will emerge from the fountain or well. Take a final picture with her to commemorate her return to the valley. After this photo, you’ll officially welcome Mirabelle Madrigal back to Disney Dreamlight Valley.
