Welcome to this comprehensive guide for the Secret Door Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley. In this quest, you’ll help Mickey Mouse recover his memories and unlock a hidden magical door by collecting four precious gems. Follow along as we walk through each step of this enchanting adventure.

Starting the Secret Door Quest

To begin the Secret Door Quest, Mickey tells you about a magical chest he once hid and has now recovered. He remembers hiding this chest but cannot recall what’s inside. Your first task is to open the magical chest that Mickey gives you.

To open the chest, access your inventory and use the magical chest item. When you do, a special image will appear showing a mirror-like object decorated with jewels and a cart in front of it.

After opening the chest, speak with Mickey. He’ll say: “When you open that chest, I remembered something. I remember a door, but I can’t remember where it is.” Mickey then provides you with a mysterious riddle: “Turrets and towers you will behold within a door for things new and old.”

If you need to review the magical chest image again at any time, navigate to your Collection menu, then select Memories to view it.

Finding the Secret Door Location

Based on Mickey’s clue about “turrets and towers,” the secret door is located in the Dream Castle area. Look for the purple curtains within the castle grounds. You’ll notice magical decorations and mystical elements surrounding this area.

Walk through the hedges near the purple curtains—they’re designed to allow passage. Once you locate the correct curtain, interact with it. Success! You’ve found the secret door.

Return to Mickey and speak with him again. He’ll confirm: “You found it! Now I remember—turrets and towers you will behold within a door for things new and old. It needs no key you’ve ever known to open this door, find matching stones.”

Collecting the Four Required Gems

The secret door requires four matching gems to unlock. Examine the door closely and you’ll see four gem slots: one blue gem on top, a red one, an orange one, and a pink one.

The four gems you need to collect are:

Citrine

Aquamarine

Garnet

Tourmaline (regular, not shiny)

These gems can be found throughout different areas of the valley. You’ll need to gather all four before you can unlock the door.

Mining for Tourmaline

The Tourmaline gem can be found in two locations: Sunlit Plateau and Frosted Heights. Important note: you need a regular Tourmaline, not a shiny Tourmaline. While the shiny version is more valuable, it is not the correct gem for this quest.

To obtain a Tourmaline, travel to Sunlit Plateau and look for stone nodes scattered throughout the area. Mine these stone nodes by interacting with them. Mining stone nodes occasionally yields gems as rewards.

Continue mining stone nodes until you obtain your Tourmaline gem. You may find multiple gems during this process.

Placing the Gems and Opening the Door

Once you’ve collected all four gems—Citrine, Aquamarine, Garnet, and Tourmaline—return to the secret door in the Dream Castle. Place each gem into its corresponding slot on the door.

After all four gems are in place, interact with the door to open it. Press Enter to complete the action.

Completing the Quest and Your Reward

Once the secret door opens, speak with Mickey one final time. He’ll explain the significance of this discovery: “He wanted to keep his things safe from the forgetting, so he hid them. But then he forgot he had the hiding place.”

Upon completion of the Secret Door Quest, you’ll receive a beautiful fountain as your reward—a lovely addition to your valley.
