How To Take Out A Loan In Prison Architect

Step 1: Access the Bureaucracy Menu

To begin the loan process, navigate to the top left corner of your screen and click on Bureaucracy. This menu contains all the administrative and financial options you need to manage your prison.

Step 2: Learn the Required Skills

Within the Bureaucracy menu, you’ll need to learn two important skills:

Finance – required for the accountant

Bank Loan – required to actually take out a loan

Make sure both of these are researched before proceeding.

Step 3: Hire an Accountant

After learning both Finance and Bank Loan, you’ll need to hire an accountant to manage your finances. Click on Staff in the bottom left corner of your screen.

You’ll see the accountant available in the staff menu. Select and hire the accountant.

Step 4: Build an Accountant’s Office

Once you’ve hired an accountant, you need to build an Accountant’s Office for them to occupy and work in. This office is necessary for your accountant to function and manage your prison’s finances.

Step 5: Access the Loan Menu

When you’re ready to take out a loan, click on Report in the bottom right corner of your screen, then select Grants.

Step 6: Manage Your Bank Loan

In the Grants menu, you’ll see the Current Bank Loan section at the bottom. Here you can manage your loan:

Click Increase to take out a larger loan

Click Decrease to pay back part of your loan

Adjust the loan amount according to your prison’s financial needs.
