Magic and Maji Quest Guide in Palia

Welcome to this comprehensive Magic and Maji Quest guide for Palia! This quest involves gathering resources, traveling between locations, and speaking with multiple NPCs to progress the story. Follow along as we walk you through each step to complete this quest successfully.

Gathering Butterfly Beans

The first objective in the Magic and Maji Quest is to gather butterfly beans. These can be found in several locations throughout Olderwood:

Metana Grove

Honey Mill Slope

Mauvis Way

Kanabong

Butterfly beans are typically located beside large trees in these areas. Search carefully around the base of these trees to find all the butterfly beans you need. Once you’ve collected enough and completed this gathering phase, you’re ready to move forward with the quest.

Returning to Zeki

After gathering the butterfly beans, you need to return to Zeki to complete the first objective. Head to Kilma Village using your fast travel stable to get there quickly.

Once you arrive at Kilma Village, make your way to Zeki’s house. Speak with Zeki to give him the butterfly beans you’ve collected. The quest will update after this interaction.

Speaking with Ref at the Tavern

After giving the beans to Zeki, the quest will instruct you to speak with Ref. Locate Ref on your map—he can be found at the tavern in Kilma Village. Head there and have a conversation with him about the game. After this dialogue, Ref will go rogue, and the quest will update again.

Returning to Zeki and Finding Ashura

Go back to Zeki’s house and speak with him again. Let him know that you’ve talked to Ref and that he went rogue. The quest will then update with a new objective: find and speak with Ashura.

Ashura is also located in the tavern. Head back there and speak with Ashura about the game. After this conversation, the quest will update again.

Meeting with Zifu

The next step is to find and speak with Zifu. Ashura will have sent you to see her. Locate Zifu and tell her that Ashura sent you. She will acknowledge this and the quest will update.

Gathering Violium

After your first conversation with Zifu, the quest will require you to bring Violium to her. If you already have Violium in your inventory, speak with Zifu again to complete this step. If you don’t have any Violium yet, you’ll need to farm it in Elderwood.

Violium appears as stones or rocks infused with a purple or dark blue violet color. Look for these distinctively colored rocks throughout Elderwood. Use your pickaxe to harvest the Violium ore from these deposits.

Once you’ve collected the Violium, return to Zifu and give it to her. The quest will update and you’ll be instructed to wait for a mail from Zifu.

Checking Your Mail

After giving the Violium to Zifu, head back to your home to check your mailbox. Look for a letter from Zifu. Once you open and read this mail, the Magic and Maji Quest will be completed!
