How to Hunt Animals in Rimworld

Each animal in the wildlife tab displays a percentage chance that indicates how likely that animal is to attack your colonists. Animals with no percentage next to their name—such as alpacas, wild boars, and tortoises—are safe to hunt and won’t harm your colonists.

Only tick the checkboxes for animals that are non-aggressive. By doing this, you ensure that your colonists won’t get injured during the hunting process. Any animal you tick in this tab will automatically be hunted by your colonists who are assigned to the hunting work job.

Step 3: Equip Your Hunters with Weapons

Before your colonists can successfully hunt, they need to be equipped with proper weapons. Make sure any colonist assigned to hunting has access to a gun or ranged weapon. Without weapons, your hunters won’t be able to bring down animals, no matter how well you’ve configured the hunting settings.
