A Fishy Dispute Quest Guide – Disney Dreamlight Valley

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the “A Fishy Dispute” quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, where you’ll help Donald Duck settle an argument with Goofy about who’s the better fisherman. This quest involves catching fish, finding time capsules, and exploring the Sunlit Plateau. Follow along step-by-step to complete this fun fishing adventure.

Quest Overview

The A Fishy Dispute quest starts with Donald Duck giving you a pair of fishing waders and asking you to prove who’s the better fisherman by catching fish and eventually tracking down a catfish that Goofy claims to have seen.

Step 1: Equip the Fishing Waders

Donald Duck will give you green fishing waders to start the quest. To equip them:

Open your inventory

Navigate to the wardrobe section

Go to requests

Put on the green fishing waders

These iconic waders feature the classic Mickey Mouse logo on the belt, so you’ll look great while fishing.

Step 2: Catch Ten Fish in the Ocean

Donald Duck asks you to catch a total of ten fish in the ocean. Head to the fishing spots and cast your line until you’ve collected all ten fish. This may take a few minutes, so be patient and keep fishing.

Step 3: Talk to Donald About Your Catch

After catching all ten fish, return to Donald Duck and speak with him about what you’ve caught. Unfortunately, none of the fish you caught were catfish. Donald will suggest that you’ll need to keep fishing if you want to find a catfish.

Step 4: Follow Donald to the Catfish Location

Donald will lead you to a specific beach where he believes the catfish can be found. Follow him to this location.

Step 5: Fish in the Orange Fishing Pool

You’ll find a small orange fishing pool at the location Donald showed you. Start fishing here to try and catch the catfish. However, you may get unexpected items—such as a time capsule—instead of the catfish.

Step 6: Give the Time Capsule to Donald

When you fish up a time capsule from the orange pool, give it to Donald. He will unlock it for you (this is the second time capsule you’ve received from Donald Duck quests), and you’ll be able to open it and retrieve the puzzle piece inside.

Step 7: Use the Time Capsule

Open the time capsule to receive another puzzle piece. This piece contains a memory that will point you to a location in the Sunlit Plateau.

Step 8: Talk to Donald About the Memory

Speak with Donald about the location and memory you’ve uncovered from the time capsule. He’ll help you understand where you need to go next.

Step 9: Travel to the Sunlit Plateau

Head to the Sunlit Plateau and look for the location shown in the memory you received from the time capsule. The area you’re looking for is located near the well in the Sunlit Plateau, behind the trees in front of the well.

Step 10: Investigate the Biome

Once you’ve found the correct location in the Sunlit Plateau, investigate the biome to look for buried items. You’ll be able to pick up items without needing to use a shovel. Collect the new time capsule you find here.

Step 11: Return to Donald with the Time Capsule

Bring the new time capsule you found back to Donald Duck. He will unlock this one as well, and you’ll receive another reward.
