Travel back to the Disney Dreamlight Valley Castle and enter the Moana realm through the center door when you enter the castle.

Head back to where you originally met Maui near his boat. You’ll find a basket on the beach containing the items you need.

Open the basket and collect the scraping stones (marked with a quest icon), along with the clams, scallops, and oysters you’ll find there. Transfer these items to your inventory.

Cooking a Five-Star Meal for Maui

Return to Maui at Dazzle Beach and give him the scraping stones. He’ll ask you to bring him a fresh, delicious five-star snack. You must cook a five-star meal—this is a requirement, not optional.

One of the easiest five-star meals to prepare is the Large Seafood Platter. You’ll need:

4 pieces of seafood (squid or shrimp)

1 lemon

If you need squid, you can find them in the blue pools of the Glade of Trust. Cook these ingredients together at any cooking station to create a five-star Large Seafood Platter.

You can make any five-star meal you prefer—the Large Seafood Platter is simply the most accessible option for most players.

Upgrading Your Pickaxe

Give Maui the five-star meal you’ve prepared. He’ll thank you and ask for your pickaxe so he can upgrade it. Hand over your pickaxe, and he’ll return it reinforced and stronger than ever.

Your pickaxe is now upgraded and strong enough to break through storm debris and other tough materials.

Breaking the Storm Debris

Follow Maui back to the debris on Dazzle Beach. Use your upgraded pickaxe to right-click on the coral debris and break it open.

Inside the debris, you’ll find a broken piece of sandstone. This is a crucial item for the next stage of the quest.

Discovering the Granite Fire Bowl Quest

Show Maui the broken sandstone piece you’ve found. He’ll explain that he originally brought fire to Dreamlight Valley before “the Forgetting” in the form of a bowl-shaped fire across from his ocean. Now he wants to recreate it as a gift to the village.

Maui will instruct you to use the sandstone piece to craft a new fire bowl. You’ll also need to gather additional materials to complete the crafting recipe.

Gathering Materials for the Granite Fire Bowl

To craft the granite fire bowl, you’ll need the following materials:

1 broken piece of sandstone (already obtained)

20 sand

25 stone

10 coal

3 red flowers (penstemon flowers from the plaza)

Collecting Sand

The easiest way to obtain sand is by digging on Dazzle Beach. Each piece of sand you dig up yields 2 sand, so you’ll need to dig approximately 10 times to gather 20 sand.

Alternative methods to obtain sand include:

Breaking coral on the beach (yields multiple sand pieces)

Purchasing sand from Kristoff’s stall (if you’ve completed his quest)

Collecting Stone

You can obtain stone by either mining rocks found around the village or mining stone nodes near the village walls.

Collecting Coal

Coal can be obtained through mining in various locations throughout the game. You’ll need 10 pieces for this recipe.

Collecting Red Penstemon Flowers

You need 3 red penstemon flowers, which grow in the plaza area. Search around the plaza to find and pick them.

Crafting the Granite Fire Bowl

Once you’ve gathered all the materials, head to any crafting table in the game. Navigate to the furniture section and locate the Granite Fire Bowl recipe.

Select the recipe and craft the Granite Fire Bowl using all your gathered materials.
