How to Find & Catch Pichu in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Getting to Pichu’s Location

Navigate to Wild Zone 1

Begin by heading into Wild Zone 1. You’ll need to locate the Pokemon Research Lab as your reference point for finding Pichu.

Access the Hidden Route

Once you’ve found the Pokemon Research Lab, look for the exit next to it. You’ll notice there’s a fence right beside the exit that’s blocking your path.

Break Through the Fence

Use your Boulder B move to smash through the fence. This will open up access to the ladder ahead.

Climb the Ladder and Cross the Roof

Head up the ladder in front of you. Once you reach the top, make your way onto the roof area.

Travel along to the left side of the roof, then jump down to the other side. This is where you’ll find Pichu waiting.

How to Catch Pichu

Approach Stealthily

When you spot Pichu, crouch down to avoid alerting it. Make sure you lock onto Pichu while crouching in the long grass.

Wait for the Right Moment

Watch the alert indicator—you want to wait until it reaches four arrows before throwing your Pokéball. Initially, you may only see two arrows, so patience is key. Stay crouched and wait for the alert level to increase.

Throw Your Pokéball

Once the alert indicator reaches four arrows, throw your Pokéball from behind Pichu. This positioning gives you the best chance of a successful catch.

If Pichu Escapes

If Pichu runs away and disappears, don’t worry. Simply wait approximately 30 seconds in the same location, and another Pichu will respawn in the area.

Once the new Pichu appears, repeat the process: crouch, lock on, wait for the alert indicator to build up, and throw your Pokéball from behind.
