Salmon is a valuable resource in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but it can only be caught in specific locations and under certain conditions. Salmon Fishing Locations

Salmon can only be found in a few specific areas within Disney Dreamlight Valley. The availability depends on whether you own the Rift and Time expansion.

Without Rift and Time Expansion

If you do not have the Rift and Time expansion, you can only catch salmon in two locations:

The river in Frosted Heights

The river and lake in Sunlit Plateau

With Rift and Time Expansion

If you own the Rift and Time expansion, you gain access to two additional fishing locations:

The Grasslands

The Importance of White Ripples

Simply fishing in the correct locations is not enough—you must fish in white ripples specifically. When you’re at any of the salmon fishing spots, look for white bubbles on the water’s surface. These white ripples are essential because they are the only way to guarantee salmon catches in Frosted Heights, Sunlit Plateau, the Grasslands, and the Promenade.

Avoid fishing in blue or orange ripples, as these will not yield salmon.

Pro Tips to Increase Your Salmon Catch

Bring a Fishing Villager

Always take a villager with you who is assigned to fishing. This will increase your chances of catching the fish you want. If you don’t have a villager with fishing skills yet, you can create a Fishing Training Manual and give it to any level 10 villager to change their role to fishing.

Use Miraculous Fishing Bait

Craft and use an Even More Miraculous Fishing Bait to significantly improve your catches. When applied to your fishing rod, this bait allows you to land bigger catches than usual. Each application provides 25 uses on your fishing rod, making it a worthwhile investment.

You can find this recipe in your crafting bench under the Potion and Enchantment category. It’s unlocked fairly mid-game, so you should have access to it once you’ve progressed sufficiently.

There is also a standard Miracle Fishing Bait available, which is a less powerful version but requires fewer ingredients to craft.

Unlock Moana’s Fishing Ship

If you haven’t already completed quests with Moana, we highly recommend doing so. By finishing her quest line, you unlock her Fishing Ship, which passively collects fish over time. Once fully upgraded, the ship generates 20 fish daily. You can return each day to collect your accumulated catch without any additional effort.
