How To Get Supermax Prisoners In Prison Architect
In Prison Architect, managing prisoner security levels is crucial to running an effective facility. If you want to house Supermax prisoners in your prison, there are two straightforward methods to accomplish this. This guide will walk you through both approaches so you can quickly start receiving and assigning Supermax inmates to your institution.
Method 1: Using the Intake Reports
The first way to get Supermax prisoners is through the Reports menu. Navigate to Reports and then click on Intake. You’ll see the Supermax option displayed here.
To prioritize receiving Supermax inmates, drag the Supermax slider to the right side. Once you adjust this priority setting, your prison will begin receiving Supermax prisoners during intake cycles.

Method 2: Converting Existing Prisoners
The second method allows you to manually upgrade individual prisoners to Supermax status. Simply click on a prisoner in your facility—for example, a prisoner named Shore.
On the right side panel, you’ll see their current security classification (such as Medium Security). Click on this security level and change it to Supermax. The prisoner will immediately be reassigned to the Supermax security tier.

Summary
Getting Supermax prisoners in Prison Architect is simple once you know where to look. Use the Intake Reports to set Supermax as a priority for new arrivals, or manually assign individual prisoners to Supermax status through their profile. Both methods are quick and effective for building and managing your high-security facilities.
