Obtaining the Pickaxe Potion from Merida

Start by progressing in Storybook Vale until you reach the point where you can talk to Merida. Once you’ve done this, locate her little bag nearby. Open the storage by interacting with her bag to access its contents.

Inside, you’ll find a pickaxe potion. Right-click on the pickaxe potion to add it to your inventory.

Upgrading Your Pickaxe

Open your inventory and use the pickaxe potion. This will upgrade your pickaxe, allowing you to interact with the special rocks in this area that were previously unavailable.

Mining the Petrified Wood Rocks

Equip your pickaxe and approach the rocks directly in front of you—these are petrified wood. You’ll now be able to interact with them. Mine all of the petrified wood rocks in the area.

Solving the Lever Puzzle

After mining the rocks, you’ll encounter a puzzle that requires you to align levers. There are two levers you need to adjust to unlock access to the Royal Net.

The puzzle works as follows: align the long form piece with the small notch, and then line up the white bit with the little tip. Pull the first lever until it lines up with the inner ring, then pull the second lever until it lines up with the outer ring. You’ll know you’re solving it correctly when you see a princess image appear.

Claiming Your Royal Net

Once the lever puzzle is solved correctly, you’ll be able to pick up the Royal Net.
