How to Kill Bombardiers in ARC Raiders
Bombardiers are formidable white Arc machines in ARC Raiders that can deal massive damage from a distance. Killing them requires strategy, the right weapons, and knowledge of their weak points. In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know to take down a Bombardier safely and efficiently.
Understanding the Bombardier
A Bombardier is the big white Arc machine you’ll encounter during combat. What makes them particularly dangerous is their use of snitches—smaller Arc units that serve as targeting systems for the Bombardier’s attacks.

How Snitches Work
The snitches are critical to understanding Bombardier behavior. These smaller Arc units will target you with a beam, and that beam directly tells the Bombardier where to shoot its mortars. Essentially, the snitches are spotting you for the Bombardier, making them just as dangerous as the main enemy itself. If you see a snitch beam targeting you, expect mortar fire to follow immediately.

Identifying Weak Points
The Kneecaps
Look at the Bombardier’s kneecaps—you’ll notice they’re highlighted in yellow. These are one of the primary weak points where you want to concentrate your fire. The yellow coloring makes them easy to spot, and hitting them will cause significant damage to the Bombardier.

The Back of the Head
There’s also a yellow spot on the back of the Bombardier’s head. This is another critical weak point you can exploit during combat. If you can position yourself correctly, targeting the back of the head is an excellent way to deal damage while potentially staying out of the Bombardier’s direct line of fire.

Weapon Recommendations
Primary Weapon: Hull Crackers
Hull Crackers are the recommended weapon for dealing with Bombardiers. Fire hull crackers at the yellow weak points to maximize damage. A single hull cracker can take out a light shield entirely, so these weapons are highly effective against Bombardier defenses.

Anti-Snitch Weapon: Anvil
For dealing with the snitches that spawn around the Bombardier, use an Anvil. Be aware that snitches will respawn, so you’ll need to eliminate them repeatedly throughout the encounter. Keeping the snitches under control is essential to prevent them from calling in mortar strikes on your position.

Combat Strategy and Positioning
Use Buildings for Cover
The Bombardier’s mortars can devastate the surrounding landscape, dealing significant damage even if you’re standing in a doorway. Your best defense is to position yourself inside a building where you can back up deep into the structure. This prevents the mortars from reaching you effectively.
An effective tactic is to get onto a roof, then move down into a building where you have depth. This allows you to pop your head out, aim at the yellow weak points, fire, and retreat back into cover before mortar fire can reach you.

Peek-and-Shoot Technique
Don’t try to face the Bombardier head-on in the open. Instead, use a peek-and-shoot strategy: position yourself inside a deep building, quickly peek out to aim at the yellow weak points on the kneecaps or back of the head, fire your hull crackers, and immediately retreat back into cover. This minimizes your exposure to incoming mortars.

Essential Supplies
Shield Rechargers
Bring at least two full stacks of shield rechargers—that’s 10 total. The Bombardier’s mortars are incredibly powerful, and a single hit can deplete your shield entirely. Having plenty of rechargers ensures you can sustain yourself throughout the encounter and recover from direct hits.

Summary
Killing a Bombardier is challenging but manageable with the right approach. Remember these key points: eliminate snitches with an Anvil to prevent targeted mortar strikes, focus hull cracker fire on the yellow weak points at the Bombardier’s kneecaps and back of the head, use building interiors for cover and protection, and always carry at least 10 shield rechargers. By combining smart positioning with effective weapon use, you’ll be able to take down Bombardiers and earn those valuable Bombardier cells.
