To mine resources in Civilization 6, the first step is to research the Mining technology. Navigate to the tech tree located in the top left of your screen to find and select Mining.

Harvest Resource: Yields 126 gold immediately, but removes the resource from that tile permanently

For long-term civilization development, building a mine is the recommended approach. It ensures you have a continuous supply of the resource, which is far more valuable than a one-time gold payment.

Constructing the Mine

Simply click on the “Build Mine” option, and your Builder will construct the mine on that tile. The mine will then produce that resource consistently for your civilization.
