How to Use Sap Catchers in Grounded

Sap catchers are one of the most useful passive resource generators in Grounded. If you’re looking to stockpile sap without actively farming it, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know about building and placing sap catchers effectively.

What Are Sap Catchers?

Sap catchers are structures that passively generate sap over time. Once you place them and leave them undisturbed, they’ll continuously collect sap without requiring any active participation from you. This makes them an excellent long-term investment for your base.

Best Locations for Sap Catchers

The placement of your sap catchers is critical to their effectiveness. The best locations are on large pieces of wood, such as the fallen log found in the south portion of the map. This gives your catchers the optimal surface area to collect sap.

Another excellent location is attached directly to the oak tree. This is particularly convenient since oak trees are stationary and provide a reliable anchor point for multiple catchers.

Crafting Requirements

To build a single sap catcher, you’ll need the following materials:

4 Crude Rope

Wheat Stems

1 Acorn Top

How Sap Catchers Work

Once placed, you’ll be able to see sap actively dripping from your catchers. The visual indicator shows that the collection process is underway. After waiting approximately one to two days in-game, a substantial amount of sap will accumulate in your catchers.

When you return to your catchers, you can simply approach them and collect all the accumulated sap. You can hold the interaction button to collect multiple units at once, making the harvest quick and efficient.

Summary

Sap catchers are a straightforward and effective way to gather sap passively in Grounded. By placing them on large pieces of wood or oak trees and gathering from them every couple of days, you’ll always have a steady supply of sap for your crafting and building needs. With minimal upfront material investment, these structures offer excellent long-term value for any player.
