The Dragon Army Quest Guide in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Welcome to this comprehensive quest guide for the Dragon Army in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Mulan realm. This is the second quest you’ll encounter in this realm, and it involves collecting materials, crafting dragon statues, and completing a series of training exercises with Mulan. Follow this guide step-by-step to complete all objectives efficiently.

Initial Setup: Talk to Mushu

Your first objective is to locate and talk to Mushu, who has wandered off from the main camp area. Head out and search the surrounding area until you find him.

Once you’ve found Mushu, speak with him to begin the quest. Your main objectives are:

Search for materials to craft Mushu’s dragon statues

Take a picture of Mushu

Gathering Materials

Dream Shards and Camp Mud

You’ll need to collect 10 Dream Shards from Dream Light Valley and 50 Camp Mud. To start gathering Camp Mud, take out your shovel and head to the side exit of the camp.

When you exit from the side, go straight forward and you’ll see a huge mound of mud. Dig it up to get your first batch of Camp Mud. Continue searching around the camp perimeter:

One along the side of the camp

One in front of the camp

Turn right to find another pile

Head back and turn right again toward the main exit

One pile in front of the main exit

One pile in front of the wheelbarrow

One pile near the entrance to the realm itself

Buckets of Water

You’ll need to collect 3 buckets of water. Starting from the main entrance of the camp:

One bucket near the lake (you’ll see it early in your exploration)

One bucket just outside the camp behind the reeds

One bucket on the island as you go around the camp perimeter

Red Spider-Lilies, Chrysanthemums, and Firewood

Starting from the side exit and moving forward, gather the following flowers and materials:

Spider-Lilies:

Three Spider-Lilies just outside the side exit

One near the chest area

One along the side of the camp

One near the front entrance area

One up the ramp near the front entrance

Chrysanthemums: You’ll find several Chrysanthemums scattered throughout the camp area, including:

Near the chest area

Along the path toward the front entrance

Near the entrance to the realm

By the front exit area

Firewood: Collect multiple pieces of firewood from various locations:

Several pieces along the forward path from the side exit

Pieces along the front entrance area

One at the entrance to the realm

Crafting Un-Fired Dragon Statues

Once you’ve gathered your materials, you can craft the dragon statues right in the realm. Navigate to the crafting station located where Mushu is standing.

Go to the furniture section and select Un-Fired Dragon Statue. You can craft up to 20 of them. The crafting table is conveniently located right near Mushu’s position in the camp.

Firing the Dragon Statues

After speaking with Mushu again, locate the kiln (positioned just over the way from where Mushu is standing) and interact with it.

Place your un-fired dragon statues and firewood into the kiln. The kiln will now fire them in batches. While waiting for the four batches to complete, you’ll need to start Mulan’s training exercises. Talk to Mulan to initiate the Defender’s Training quest.

Defender’s Training Quest

While your dragon statues are being fired, complete the Defender’s Training quest, which includes four sub-tasks:

1. Fishing for Precision

Head to the side exit of the camp and equip your fishing rod. You need to catch 10 salmon to pass this challenge.

Look for orange fishing ripples only—these will yield salmon. White ripples only give seaweed and aren’t worth your time. Golden fishing holes are ideal. You’ll find salmon in:

Two holes on the left side of the main entrance

One hole near the main entrance itself

Two holes on the right side of the main entrance

As you fish, fishing holes will respawn, allowing you to catch your remaining salmon from the same spots. Once you’ve caught all 10 salmon, return to Mulan and place them in the cauldron nearby.

2. Brick Breaking

On your way back to Mulan, you’ll notice bricks scattered in the area. Use your pickaxe to break them all. This is a straightforward task with no specific count requirement.

You’ll also pick up a fan as a reward for completing this section.

3. Orienteering

Talk to Mulan to begin the orienteering section. She will give you training weights and a stick, which you need to equip.

Enter the training area and interact with the boards to equip the training weights. You now need to search the maze for 8 pebbles. Remove trash obstacles as you encounter them and collect all pebbles:

While in the maze, you may also find circular weights, which contribute to the “Training Treasures” quest. You’ll need these weights along with the fan (found earlier) and a snorkel (obtained while fishing) to complete that quest.

Deliver the 8 training pebbles to Mulan to complete the orienteering section. Also give her the circular weights, fan, and snorkel for the Training Treasures quest.

Completing the Quest

After finishing all the Defender’s Training sub-quests, return to check on your dragon statues. The kiln will have completed all four batches of fired dragon statues.

Talk to Mushu one final time to complete the Dragon Army quest. The entire process—including firing time—typically takes around 20-25 minutes total.

Upon completion, a ground-shaking animation will occur, and the next quest, Clearing the Road, will automatically begin.

The Dragon Army quest requires patience and careful resource gathering. Focus on collecting all 50 Camp Mud, 3 buckets of water, and the necessary flowers early on.
