When you pick up the sock, you’ll notice that “D-D” is sewn into the lining. This is a clear hint pointing to the sock’s owner: Donald Duck. The initials on the sock make it obvious who you need to return it to.

Returning the Sock to Donald Duck

Head to Donald Duck’s house (which is located on the water, as befits a duck) and talk to Donald. Give him the slimy stocking you collected. Donald will then ask you to search his house for a clue to solve the mystery.

Upon entering Donald’s house, you’ll find it’s quite messy with trash scattered everywhere. You’ll need to remove five pieces of trash by stomping on them (not with a shovel—simply stomp to clear the debris).

After clearing away the trash, keep an eye out for a clue. You’ll discover an item called a “strange device,” which is the clue you’re looking for in Donald’s house.

Completing the Quest

Give the strange device to Donald Duck. With this final step, “The Mystery of the Stolen Socks” quest will be marked as complete.

What Comes Next: The Sock Stealing Space Alien Strikes Again

After completing the first quest, a follow-up quest will become available called “The Sock Stealing Space Alien Strikes Again.” In this next quest, you’ll need to find another sock in the valley. Note that the first sock you collected is only used for the initial quest—you won’t be able to pick up the same one again.

Important Timing Detail: A new sock will only spawn five days after you unlock Donald Duck’s boat. If you’ve just recently unlocked Donald Duck and can’t find socks in the biomes, this is likely why. Make sure at least five days have passed since unlocking Donald Duck’s boat and completing the initial sock quest before searching for the next one.
