How To Use Riot Police In Prison Architect
The Riot Police feature in Prison Architect is a powerful tool for managing emergencies and dangerous situations within your facility. This guide will walk you through the complete process of summoning, controlling, and commanding Riot Police units to maintain order in your prison.
Summoning the Riot Police
To summon the Riot Police, click on Emergencies located on the bottom menu bar. From the dropdown options, select Riot Police.

Once you’ve made your selection, look to the right side of your screen where you’ll see the Riot Police unit displayed. Wait for them to arrive at your facility—they will automatically deploy to your location.

Controlling Riot Police Units
Commanding All Units
To control all deployed Riot Police at once, click on the Riot Police icon on the right side of the screen. Once selected, right-click on the location where you want them to move and respond.

The Riot Police will automatically attack any dangerous individuals in the area you’ve designated. This is an effective way to manage large-scale disturbances across your prison.

Commanding Individual Units
If you want to direct a single Riot Police officer, click on just one unit to select it, then right-click on your target location. This gives you precise control over individual responses.

Commanding Multiple Units (Drag Selection)
You can also select multiple Riot Police officers by dragging a selection box around them. Once your desired units are selected, right-click on the area where you want them to deploy.

Dismissing Riot Police
When you’ve finished dealing with the emergency and no longer need the Riot Police, click the X mark on the right side of the screen. The Riot Police will automatically depart from your facility.

Summary
Using Riot Police effectively in Prison Architect involves three simple steps: summon them through the Emergencies menu, direct them to problem areas using the icon and right-click commands, and dismiss them when the situation is under control. Whether you’re managing a full-scale riot or targeting specific dangerous inmates, the Riot Police system provides flexible crowd control options to keep your prison secure.
