A Prince in Disguise Quest Guide – Disney Dreamlight Valley

This comprehensive quest guide will walk you through “A Prince in Disguise,” which automatically starts after completing the “Into the West Wing” quest in the Beauty and the Beast realm. Follow along as we gather key pieces, craft essential items, and help the Beast reunite with Belle in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Starting the Quest – Talk to the Beast

Begin by speaking with the Beast to initiate the quest. He will provide you with Luminaire’s clues about finding three hidden key pieces located in specific places around the realm.

Finding the Three Key Pieces

You need to locate three key pieces based on Luminaire’s clues: one in a hot place, one where silence rules, and one in a fawny place.

The Hot Place – Fireplace

Head to the fireplace in the Beast’s castle. Use your watering can to put out the fire and retrieve the first key piece.

Where Silence Rules – The Lion Statues

Near the entrance at the top of the stairs, you’ll find two lion statues. Use your royal pickaxe to break the lion statue and obtain the second key piece.

A Fawny Place – The Garden

Make your way to the garden where you’ll see fawn bushes in the center. Use your royal shovel to dig up the shiny spot in the middle near the lamp post to retrieve the third key piece.

Collecting the Enchanted Mirror

Return all three key pieces to the Beast. Head to the secret room where he’s located. After speaking with him, you’ll find a chest behind him. Open it to obtain the enchanted mirror.

Take the enchanted mirror out to the Beast to continue the quest.

Gathering Items for the Book Kit

You now need to return to the village and collect several items to craft a book kit. Here’s what you need:

Fiber

Fish seaweed from any open water that doesn’t have a fishing ripple. Take the seaweed to the crafting bench and convert it into fiber.

Falling Purple Pens (Three Required)

Collect three purple falling pens from the plaza. You may also encounter red and blue variants, but you specifically need the purple ones.

Empty Vial

Craft an empty vial at the crafting bench using glass. Glass is made from sand, which can be dug up or mined from coral at Dazzle Beach.

Feather

Ask a village NPC for a feather. Scrooge McDuck is your best option and will provide one.

Crafting the Book Kit

With all items collected, head to the crafting bench and navigate to Functional Items. Select “Book Kit” and craft it using the empty vial, fiber, flowers, and feather.

Returning to the Beast with the Book Kit

Travel back to the Beauty and the Beast realm on the third floor. Speak with the Beast and give him the book kit.

Gathering the Beast’s Personal Items

You now need to find three items: the Beast’s brush, cologne, and shampoo, all located within his realm.

Cologne

You’ll find the cologne on a table in the main room.

Shampoo

Look near the bath to find the shampoo.

Brush

Check the storage chest near the door to retrieve the brush.

Once you’ve collected all three items, speak with the Beast again and give them to him.

Witnessing the Apology Scene

Follow the Beast as he heads to the garden to apologize to Belle. Listen to their conversation as an observer, then speak with Belle afterward.

Placing the Beast’s Castle in the Village

The Beast’s castle is now ready to be placed in Disney Dreamlight Village. Open your inventory, access furniture requests, and select the castle to place it. This is a large structure, so choose your location carefully. You may need to move existing buildings like the restaurant to accommodate it.

Once placed, unlock the castle using Scrooge’s Stein.

Welcoming Belle to the Village

Welcome Belle to the village and speak with her. She will provide you with a note for the Beast.

Final Steps – Delivering Belle’s Note

Return to the Beast’s realm and give him Belle’s note. The Beast will then join you at the fountain in the village. Speak with him to complete the quest and unlock both characters.

Quest Complete

Congratulations! You have successfully completed “A Prince in Disguise,” which also marks the end of the entire Beauty and the Beast quest line in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Both the Beast and Belle are now permanent residents of your village.
