All Crate Locations for Alpha Institute in Once Human

The Alpha Institute is located at the very top of Chalk Peak and contains multiple valuable crates scattered throughout its heavily guarded compound. This guide will walk you through each crate location, the best routes to access them, and what items you’ll find at each stop. Whether you’re after gear, weapons, or mystical items, we’ve got you covered.

Getting Started: Entering the Alpha Institute

The Alpha Institute is a large facility on the mountain in the Chalk Peak area. To begin your crate collection run, you’ll need to drive directly into the gates of the compound. Be prepared for heavy resistance—there are numerous armed guards throughout the facility, so proceed with caution.

Once you’ve entered through the gates, head through the main pathway and prepare for combat encounters with guards.

Crate Location #1: The Mystical Crate Room

After clearing the initial guard positions, proceed through the first building and head toward the second door. You will need a V2 access card (also called a Rosetta access card) to unlock the door to this room.

This room is the most rewarding stop on your route, as it contains three crates in one location:

Mystical Crate

Gear Crate

Weapon Crate

All three crates are stored in the same room, making this an efficient stop for gathering resources.

Crate Location #2: The Gear Crate in the South Building

Exit through the side door of the previous building and proceed up the pathway. You can use nearby crates and natural terrain to help you ascend if needed. Continue heading toward the main road and navigate to the south area of the institute.

In the south area, you’ll find a main building that stands out from the surrounding structures. The gear crate is located just inside the entrance of this building.

Warning: This area is heavily guarded with multiple armed NPCs patrolling the vicinity. Clear the guards before attempting to collect the crate, or grab it quickly if you’re confident in your combat abilities.

The gear crate is very easy to spot once you’re inside the entrance, so don’t worry about searching extensively in this location.

Crate Location #3: The Weapon Crate at the Monolith

From the south building, head north toward the monolith area. Make your way up the ramp and onto the sniper ledge where you’ll encounter a sniper position. From this high ground, you can glide toward the monolith itself.

Ascend the stairs leading to the monolith and use another glide to close the distance. Continue through the underpass that leads directly to the front of the monolith structure.

Once you’re outside the front of the monolith, you’ll see crates located in the middle area. Jump up to access the weapon crate.

Summary

The Alpha Institute contains three main crate locations with a total of four crates to collect. Start with the mystical, gear, and weapon crates in the locked room (requires V2 access card), then proceed to the south building for another gear crate, and finally head to the monolith area for a weapon crate.
