Starting the Quest with Doctor Shane

After speaking with Shane, you’ll receive your first quest update: you need to find someone who knows how to make a telescope. The quest will also inform you of the materials you’ll need to gather.

Finding Najuma in Bahari Bay

The person you’re looking for is Najuma, a craftsperson who specializes in telescope construction. However, Najuma is not located in Kilima Village—you’ll need to travel to Bahari Bay where Najuma resides.

Use the fast travel system (tables) to navigate to Bahari Bay. Once you arrive, locate Najuma and speak with them about making a telescope.

Quest Materials Required

After speaking with Najuma, your quest will update with the following material requirements:

10 Hardwood

5 Silver Ore

2 Glass Panes

Gathering Hardwood from Bahari Bay

Hardwood can be found in Bahari Bay by chopping down pine trees. Equip your axe and approach any pine tree in the area, then chop it down to collect hardwood.

You need to collect a total of 10 pieces of hardwood. Continue chopping pine trees until you have the required amount.

Mining Silver Ore in Kilima Village

Silver ore is located in Kilima Village and can be identified by mining nodes with light blue infused stone. Equip your pickaxe and mine these specific nodes to collect silver ore.

You need 5 silver ore total for this quest.

Obtaining Glass Panes

Glass panes can be obtained in two ways:

Crafting Option: Use the glass furnace at your personal plot to create glass panes

Purchase Option: Buy glass panes directly from the blacksmith in Kilima Village for 50 gold per pane

You need 2 glass panes total. The purchasing option is the quickest if you have the gold available.

Purchasing Glass Panes from the Blacksmith

Return to Kilima Village and visit the blacksmith. Purchase 2 glass panes at 50 gold each (100 gold total).

Returning to Shane to Complete the Quest

Once you have gathered all the required materials (10 hardwood, 5 silver ore, and 2 glass panes), return to Doctor Shane in Kilima Village. Your quest should now update to reflect completion of the material gathering phase.

Talk to Shane and select the option to give him the materials you’ve collected for the telescope.
