Starting the Quest: Talk to Woody

Begin by locating and talking to Woody to initiate the “Failing Better” quest. This is the first major friendship quest with this character in the game.

Step 1: Talk to Remi

Next, head to Remi, who typically hangs around the restaurant area. You’ll often find him outside his house. Speak with Remi to receive interesting looking foods from him.

Step 2: Try Woody’s Meals

Woody has prepared two meals for you to taste test:

Gooey Paste

Salty Garlic Cheesecake

Eat both meals. Don’t worry—they taste awful, as expected, but you’ll survive the experience.

Step 3: Return to Remi with Your Verdict

After sampling both meals, return to Remi and tell him the good news: you survived! He’ll react with concern about how nasty the meals were.

Step 4: Return to Woody

Go back to Woody to continue the quest. Pro Tip: If you have trouble finding any villager, toggle them on and off in your settings. This will automatically spawn them outside their own home, making location tracking much easier.

Step 5: Receive and Use Recipe Books

Woody will give you recipe books that he was asked to prepare. Open your inventory and select these recipe books to learn the recipes. You’ll need to cook the following two dishes:

Vegetarian Pizza

Cheesecake

Cheesecake Recipe

To make a cheesecake, you’ll need:

Cheese

Wheat

Sugar Cane

Strawberries

Head to your cooking station (home oven or wherever you’ve set yours up) and prepare the cheesecake using these ingredients.

Vegetarian Pizza Recipe

For the vegetarian pizza, gather:

Any two types of vegetables (look for the carrot icon in your inventory)

Tomato

Wheat

Cheese

Cook this dish at your cooking station as well.

Step 6: Give Meals to Remi (Not Woody!)

Once both meals are prepared, bring them to Remi rather than Woody. Find Remi running around and give him the vegetarian pizza and cheesecake.

Step 7: Talk to Woody Again

Return to Woody for the next part of the quest. He will ask you to meet him at Dazzle Beach.

Step 8: Gather Fresh Cod and Wheat at Dazzle Beach

Meet Woody at Dazzle Beach. You now need to gather:

Fresh Cod (by fishing)

Wheat (by fishing or planting)

How to Catch Wheat

Wheat can only be caught in white fishing pools found in these three locations:

Dazzle Beach

The Glade of Trust

The Forgotten Lands

Keep in mind that white pools may also yield other items like herring. If you’re unlucky, persist with fishing in these designated areas until you catch wheat. Alternatively, you can purchase wheat seeds from Goofy’s stall in the Meadow, plant three seeds using your shovel, water them, and harvest the grown wheat.

Purchasing Wheat Seeds

If you prefer the planting route, visit Goofy’s stall in the Meadow to buy three wheat seeds. You’ll need to use your shovel to plant them, water each one, and then harvest them once they’ve grown.

Catching Fresh Cod

Fishing for cod can be time-consuming. Be prepared to catch many other fish species before landing your three fresh cod. Persistence is key—don’t give up if you encounter numerous herring, tuna, shrimp, swordfish, lobster, and other fish first.

Step 9: Give Ingredients to Woody

Once you have the fresh cod and wheat, return to Woody and give him both ingredients.

Step 10: Deliver Ingredients to Goofy

Next, take the cod and wheat to Goofy. Find him and complete this hand-off.

Step 11: Meet Woody at the Carousel

After giving Goofy the ingredients, meet Woody at the carousel as instructed.

Step 12: Clean Up Trash at Woody’s House

Head to Woody’s house, where you’ll find trash scattered throughout. You need to remove all seven pieces of trash by interacting with each one to stomp on it. The trash locations are clearly visible, making this step straightforward.

Step 13: Pick Up the Memory

After cleaning up all the trash, a memory will appear in the area. Pick it up to see a beautiful scene featuring Ariel.

Step 14: Return to Woody – Quest Complete
