Starting the Quest: Meeting Mother Goethel

To begin the Forgotten Memories Trust Quest, head to the Glade of Truss and locate Mother Goethel. Start by talking to her to initiate the quest.

Following Mother Goethel to the Pillar of Trust

After speaking with Mother Goethel, she will direct you to follow her to the Pillar of Trust. Once you arrive at the pillar together, the next objective will become clear.

Removing the Orb from the Pillar

At the Pillar of Trust, you’ll need to remove an ugly orb that’s been placed there. Interact with the pillar to extract the orb from its pedestal.

Showing the Orb to Mother Goethel

Once you’ve successfully removed the orb from the pillar, return to Mother Goethel and show it to her. After viewing the orb, she will reveal that she’s actually lost her jewel-encrusted mirror and needs your help to retrieve it.

Finding the Jewel-Encrusted Mirror: Fishing Locations

Mother Goethel’s jewel-encrusted mirror is hidden in the water, and you’ll need to fish for it. There are multiple fishing spots in the area to search through:

First Fishing Spot

There’s a fishing pull located right behind the Pillar of Trust. When you fish here, you may catch an old fuse instead of the mirror on your first attempt.

Second Fishing Spot

Near the well, there’s another orange fishing spot. Fishing here may yield an old bowl rather than the mirror you’re seeking.

Finding the Correct Spot

Continue checking the various fishing spots in the area. The jewel-encrusted mirror is tied to a brick, so you’ll need to fish from the correct location. It appears you may need to try multiple spots until you find the right one, or there may be a specific fishing location where it’s guaranteed to appear.

Returning the Mirror and Confronting Mother Goethel

Once you’ve successfully fished out the jewel-encrusted mirror tied to the brick, the quest will indicate that the mirror is nothing but junk. You’re instructed to return it to Mother Goethel near the Grand Willow and give her a piece of your mind about the “gift” she provided.

Completing the Quest

Travel back to find Mother Goethel near the Grand Willow. Speak with her and select the dialogue option to tell her this is a piece of junk. After this confrontation, you’ll automatically be teleported back to the pedestal area.

Collect the orb from the pedestal and speak with the Fairy Godmother to complete the Forgotten Memories Trust Quest.
