How to Get All Pokemon in Wild Zone 2 in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Wild Zone 2, also known as Vert Plaza, is home to several Pokemon that you’ll need to catch to complete your Pokedex. This guide walks you through the locations and strategies for capturing all Pokemon in this zone, including the elusive Staryu which requires a special time-based trick to encounter.
Getting Started in Vert Plaza
To begin your Pokemon-catching adventure in Wild Zone 2, enter Vert Plaza. You’ll find Pokemon distributed throughout various locations in the zone, from rivers and ponds to long grass and trees. Having a variety of Pokemon types in your party will make catching these Pokemon much easier, as you’ll want to use type advantages whenever possible.
Pokemon Locations and Catching Strategies
1. Magikarp
Magikarp is the easiest Pokemon to catch in Wild Zone 2. You can find it in all of the rivers and ponds throughout Vert Plaza. Simply throw a Poke Ball at it and you should catch it without any difficulty.

2. Badu
Once you first enter Vert Plaza, head into the long grass area. Badu can be a bit shy, so approach carefully. Wait for it to not be looking directly at you, then throw your Poke Ball. This should secure your Badu without too much trouble.

3. Binnacle
After catching Badu, head over the first bridge. You’ll immediately spot Binnacle in the area ahead. For this Pokemon, it’s highly recommended to use a Grass-type Pokemon, as it will be super effective. If you have a Badu or Chikareta in your party, use them for this battle to weaken Binnacle more quickly before catching it.

4. Patrat
Continue over the next bridge toward the North End of Vert Plaza. On the right-hand side, you’ll find a Patrat hiding in the long grass. This is a very easy catch—simply hide in the grass and throw your Poke Ball when ready.

5. Kakuna
Make your way to the Northwest side of Vert Plaza, near the small bridge on the left side of the zone. Here you’ll find Kakuna perched on a tree. A Bird-type Pokemon with a move like Peck is ideal for this encounter, as Flying-type moves are super effective against Bug types. Fletchling with Peck works particularly well—you may only need two hits to weaken it before catching.
Note: If you fail to catch Kakuna, don’t worry. It will respawn after approximately one minute, giving you another chance to catch it.

6. Staryu (The Most Difficult Pokemon)
Staryu is the most challenging Pokemon to find in Wild Zone 2 because it only appears during nighttime. To encounter Staryu, you’ll need to change the time of day. Head to a bench in Vert Plaza and sit on it. A prompt will appear asking if you want to hang out here until nightfall. Select “Yes” to proceed.

Once nightfall arrives and you return to Wild Zone 2, Magikarp will still be present in the rivers and ponds, but now Staryu will have appeared in the zone as well. Fortunately, Staryu is relatively easy to catch once you’ve found it. Simply throw your Poke Ball and add this rare Pokemon to your collection.

Summary
You’ve now learned how to locate and catch all six Pokemon in Wild Zone 2 (Vert Plaza): Magikarp, Badu, Binnacle, Patrat, Kakuna, and Staryu. The key to success is using type advantages when battling Pokemon before catching them, and remembering that Staryu requires you to advance time to nightfall before it will appear. With these strategies in mind, you should be able to complete your Wild Zone 2 Pokedex quickly and efficiently.
