How To Make & Use The Small Wind Turbine In Astroneer

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the complete process of crafting and deploying a small wind turbine in Astroneer. Wind turbines are an excellent way to generate renewable power for your base, and they’re surprisingly easy to create once you know the steps. Let’s get started!

Unlocking the Small Wind Turbine

The first step is to unlock the small wind turbine blueprint. Press R on your keyboard to open the catalog menu. Click the small printer button and navigate down three rows, then move right three times. You’ll see the small wind turbine listed there. If you haven’t already unlocked it, you’ll need a few hundred bytes to research it through your research catalog.

Gathering Materials

Finding Clay

To craft a small wind turbine, you’ll need one piece of ceramic. Before you can make ceramic, you need to find clay. Clay appears as brown objects scattered around the terrain. Mine these clay deposits and collect them—you may find multiple clay pieces in the same area.

Smelting Clay Into Ceramic

Crafting the Small Wind Turbine

With your ceramic ready, you can now craft the small wind turbine directly in your backpack. Open your inventory, locate the ceramic piece, and add it to your backpack. Select the small wind turbine from your inventory and place it on your desired location. Once positioned, plug it into your base’s power network.
