Need to move prisoners between security levels in Prison Architect? Transferring prisoners is a straightforward process once you enable the feature in your game settings. This guide will walk you through each step to get your inmates moved to the appropriate facility level.

Enable Prisoner Transfer Feature

Before you can transfer any prisoners, you’ll need to enable the transfer feature in your game settings. Here’s how:

Press Escape to open the main menu, then navigate to Extras. From there, go to Map Settings and scroll down until you find the Cleared Transfer option. Enable this setting to activate prisoner transfers in your prison.

Once enabled, close the settings menu to return to your prison.

Access the Transfer Prisoners Menu

With the feature enabled, you’re ready to start transferring prisoners. Follow these steps to access the transfer menu:

Click on Intelligence located at the bottom of your screen.

Next, click on the Security Menu. On the right side of the screen, you’ll see the Transfer Prisoners option.

Select and Transfer a Prisoner

Now that you’re in the transfer menu, select the prisoner you wish to move. For example, you can select a prisoner like Chambers from your inmate list.

Once you’ve selected your prisoner, choose the security level where you want to transfer them. Your options include Minimum, Medium, or Maximum security facilities. Select your desired security level.

Close the transfer menu to finalize the transfer. The prisoner will be moved immediately to their new facility.

Verify the Transfer

After closing the menu, you can verify that your prisoner has been transferred successfully. Search for the prisoner in their new security level to confirm the transfer took effect.
