Since parsnip-related machines are heavy, you’ll also need to add weights to the front of your tractor to balance the weight of the machines attached to the rear. Visit the Miscellaneous section in the shop to purchase and attach weights to your tractor’s front end.

The first step in parsnip cultivation is soil preparation. Since parsnips are root vegetables, you have two options: use a plow or a sub-soiler. A sub-soiler is recommended as it’s easier and quicker to use. Purchase any sub-soiler available in the shop—they all work equally well for parsnips.

Step 2: Liming Your Fields (Optional but Recommended)

After preparing the soil, you can optionally lime your fields to increase crop yield. To determine if a field needs liming, enable “Needs lime” under soil composition on your map. Limed fields will display as brown, while fields requiring lime remain visible.

To lime your fields, visit the Yield Improvements section in the shop and purchase a fertiliser spreader (currently the Breeder is the only machine available with lime capability). Look for the white lime icon when selecting your machine. You’ll also need to purchase lime as a consumable, which will appear as bags in the car park.

Attach the spreader to your tractor and reverse it up to the lime bags. Press the default key bind (R on PC) to refill the fertiliser spreader. You can monitor the lime percentage indicator above the speedometer on the right side of your screen to see how full the machine is.

For an additional yield boost specifically for parsnips (and other vegetables like carrots), you can create soil ridges. Navigate to the Vegetables section and select Vegetable Planters, then choose a grim or grimay machine. These machines will put ridges into your soil, slightly increasing yield. Once soil preparation is complete, you’re ready to plant. Select a vegetable planter from the Vegetables section in the shop. You’ll notice a white icon indicating parsnip compatibility.

Next, purchase parsnip seeds from the Objects section at the bottom of the shop menu. Select either big bags or pallets—either option works. Reverse your vegetable planter up to the seed bags to refill it, just as you did with the lime spreader.

Lower the planter using the V key (default on PC) and cycle through available seeds using the Y key until you reach parsnips. Turn on the machine and begin seeding your field.

To maximize your parsnip yield, fertilize your crops after planting. Purchase a fertiliser spreader from the Yield Improvements section and solid fertilizer as a consumable.

To monitor growth stages, toggle the growth view on your map—green indicates early growth, while dark green indicates crops nearly ready to harvest. Check the growth stages panel on the left side of your screen to determine optimal fertilization timing.

Once your parsnips reach full maturity (dark green on the growth map), it’s time to harvest. Navigate to the Vegetables section in the shop and select a vegetable harvester. These machines will lift the parsnips out of the ground and prepare them for transfer.

After harvesting, transfer your parsnips to a trailer. You then have two options: sell immediately or store them for later sale.

Selling at a Tipping Point

For immediate sale, transport your trailer to a tipping point (marked by a purple icon on your map).
