Step 1: Investigate the River in the Forest of Vala

Begin by heading to the Forest of Vala and making your way to the river. Your goal is to search for a buried clue about Buzz’s past along the riverbank.

Once you arrive at the location, you’ll find a memory buried in the ground on the right-hand side of the river, near the steps leading to the Frosted Heights. Dig up this clue to discover a picture showing Scar and Buzz coming to the rescue.

Step 2: Talk to Buzz About the Discovery

After finding the memory, return to Buzz and show him what you’ve discovered. He will mention that he was locked away and that Scar came to his rescue.

Step 3: Speak with Scar

Next, locate Scar and have a conversation with him about Buzz’s past. Scar will request that you prepare two specific meals for him: a tuna burger and fish soup.

Step 4: Cook Fish Soup

Open your cooking menu and navigate to the cooking recipes. Select Fish Soup and gather the following ingredients:

Return to Buzz and learn that the next clue can be found by fishing in the river at the Sunlit Plateau. Equip your fishing rod and head to the designated area.

Look for an orange ripple in the water—this is where you’ll catch the old fishing rod containing the next clue. Cast your line at this spot.

Step 9: Investigate the Fishing Rod

Open your inventory and examine the old fishing rod you just caught. Inside, you’ll discover that Scar was actually trying to catch a tuna or a brim—revealing that the previous conflict was all a misunderstanding.

Step 10: Reunite Buzz and Scar

Return to Buzz and explain that everything was a misunderstanding. Share your findings with him, and then let Buzz and Scar have a private conversation to resolve their differences.

Step 11: Complete the Quest

Once Buzz and Scar have finished their conversation, speak to Buzz one final time to complete the Fragmented Past quest.
