The Scientific Method Quest Guide in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Welcome to this comprehensive quest guide for the Scientific Method quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, featuring Jack Skellington. Starting the Quest with Jack Skellington

Begin the Scientific Method quest by speaking with Jack Skellington. If you need to locate him, head to the Sunlit Plateau and find the Vitalist Mind mine entrance.

Navigate to the Vitalist Mind Mine

Travel to the Sunlit Plateau and enter the Vitalist Mind mine. Once inside, head toward the river from the entrance, cross over it, and continue further into the mine. You’ll find Jack Skellington in a room on the right side of the mine.

Speak with Jack to progress the quest and learn about your next objective.

Craft the Scientific Kit

After speaking with Jack, you need to craft a Scientific Kit. Exit the mine and go to your crafting bench. Navigate to the Functional Items section and craft the Scientific Kit using the following materials:

Software

Empty Vial

Ironing

Fabric

Coal

Once crafted, return to Jack Skellington in the valley and give him the Scientific Kit.

Gather the Nightshards

The next step requires you to collect six Nightshards and bring them to Jack in the Vitalist Mind mine. Before entering the mine, make sure all six Nightshards are in your inventory—the game doesn’t automatically notify you of this requirement until you’re inside.

Go to your storage or crafting bench and retrieve your Nightshards.

Return to the Vitalist Mind mine and head to Jack’s location to give him the Nightshards.

Consult with Merlin

After giving Jack the Nightshards, your next objective is to speak with Merlin. When you interact with Merlin, make sure to select the “Scientific Method” option if multiple dialogue choices appear.

Locate the Four Potions in Merlin’s Library

Merlin will ask you to find four potions in his library. Merlin’s library is relatively small, making this task straightforward. Locate the following colored potions:

Yellow Potion: On the shelf

Green Potion: On the back shelf

Blue Potion: On Merlin’s desk

Purple Potion: On the floor

Find the Giant Night Fawn

After collecting all four potions, Merlin will tell you that the correct potion is “the opposite of a night fawn.” The Giant Night Fawn is located in the Vitalist Mind mine. Head to the mine to find it.

Choose the Correct Potion Color

When you interact with the Giant Night Fawn, you must select the potion that represents the opposite color. Since the Night Fawn is purple, the opposite on the color wheel is yellow. Place the yellow potion on the Giant Night Fawn to complete this step.

Collect Your Reward

After placing the correct potion, the Giant Night Fawn will transform and reward you with a Night Fawn Sprout. Give this sprout to Jack Skellington to complete the Scientific Method quest.
