A New Recruit Quest Guide – Disney Dreamlight Valley

This quest will require you to explore the realm, clean up the training camp, collect uniform pieces, and prepare a special breakfast. Follow this step-by-step guide to complete this quest efficiently and unlock the next challenge awaiting you.

Unlocking the Mulan Realm

To begin this quest, you’ll need to spend 15,000 Dream Light to unlock the Mulan Realm. Once you’ve made this investment, you can access the realm and start “A New Recruit” quest.

Exploring the Mulan Realm and Meeting Moushou

Upon entering the Mulan Realm, you’ll notice it’s quite expansive. Head straight into the training camp area and locate Moushou to begin your instructions.

Cleaning Up the Camp

After speaking with Moushou, your first major task is to clean up the camp. This involves three main activities: breaking rocks, digging out rice spills, and flipping over a cauldron.

Collecting Rice Bowls

Using your shovel, you’ll need to find and flip over all the scattered rice bowls throughout the camp. Here’s where to find them:

One near the targets

Two near Moushou

One behind the tent

One behind the gong (on the other side of the tent)

Two near the campfire by the mini tents

Three near the targets on the left side

One near the entrance

Flipping the Cauldron

While you’re collecting rice bowls, interact with the cauldron in the camp to flip it back over.

Breaking Rocks

Equip your pickaxe and locate all the rocks scattered around the camp. You’ll find them in these locations:

One behind the gong

One in front of the targets

One closer to the targets

One near the right-hand side entrance (near the cauldron)

Three more in the obvious central area

One near the campfire by the smaller tents

Don’t forget to open any chests you encounter while cleaning up!

Collecting Training Uniform Pieces

Once the camp is clean, return to Moushou. He will now ask you to find pieces of a training uniform scattered throughout the realm. There are five items to collect:

Shoes

Head back towards the realm entrance. Take the left path from the entrance, and as you come around the bend, you’ll find the shoes sitting on a rock on the opposite side of the river.

Trousers

Return to the front entrance of the camp. From the camp entrance, turn left and you’ll immediately spot the trousers hanging on a tree.

Socks

Enter the camp and head towards the small tents. Open the storage in one of these tents to retrieve the socks. Look for the small cooking pot near the camp entrance—the tent is just to the left of this area.

Heart Piece and Training Top

Enter another tent in the camp (near where Moushou is positioned). Inside, you’ll find both the heart piece and the training top.

Equipping Your Uniform

Bring all five uniform pieces to Moushou. Then access your inventory and go to your wardrobe. At the top of the wardrobe menu, you’ll see a request called “Complete Training Uniforms.” Put on the uniform and return to talk to Moushou again.

Preparing Moulin’s Breakfast

Moushou will now give you a recipe for breakfast. Open your inventory to find the recipe book, which contains the recipe for Moushou’s Congee.

Gathering Ingredients

Head to the cauldron that you flipped over earlier. There’s a table of ingredients nearby. Collect one of each:

One garlic

One ginger

One mushroom

One egg

One rice

Cooking Moushou’s Congee

Return to Moushou and the cooking pot. Open the recipes menu at the top and select Moushou’s Congee. Use the auto-fill function to add all five ingredients, then cook the dish.

Waking Moulin and Completing the Quest

Ring the gong to wake up Moulin. Once she appears, talk to her and give her the Moushou’s Congee that you just prepared.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully completed “A New Recruit” quest. The next quest available in the Mulan Realm is called “The Dragon Army.”
