How to Get & Use an IED in Wardogs

Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) are powerful tactical tools in Wardogs that can give you a significant advantage in combat. This guide will walk you through the complete process of obtaining and deploying an IED, from purchasing it at the weapons vendor to detonating it in the field.

Purchasing Your IED

To get started, head to the weapons vendor located at your base. This is your central hub for acquiring tactical equipment and weaponry.

Once at the vendor, navigate to the Specialist Item section. This menu contains specialized equipment beyond standard weapons.

From the Specialist Item menu, select the Tactical category. This is where you’ll find your IED option.

Purchase the IED (Improvised Explosive Device) from the available options. The transaction will complete immediately.

Equipping Your IED

After purchasing your IED, equip it in your main slot. This makes it your active tactical item and ready for deployment.

Deploying the IED

Before you deploy, remember that you cannot place IEDs in safe zones. You’ll need to leave the base area to find an appropriate location for your explosive device.

Once you’re in a valid deployment zone, position yourself where you want to place the IED. When the placement location is valid, the indicator will turn green, confirming you can deploy there.

Press left click to place the IED. The device will be deployed and left at that location. You can now walk away from it.

Detonating Your IED

After placing your IED, a mobile phone will appear in your hand. This is your remote detonator. When enemies approach your deployed IED or when you want to trigger it, simply right click with the phone in hand to detonate the device.
